• USB power will always be on even when the system is shut down.
• Please unplug the PC power cable completely for 20 seconds before installation to avoid possible voltage spikes which may damage the chipset on the adapter.
• This adapter is designed to fit all USB 3.0 20 pin motherboard headers by standard specification. However, a small number of motherboards do not use standard USB 3.0 20 pin headers, which may cause the adapter to get stuck in the socket.
• Forceful removal of the adapter may cause the header socket to be damaged. LINKUP is not responsible for such damage.

• NOTE: Does not convert from 5GB/s to 10GB/s. Not compatible with USB 2.0 motherboard IDC connector.

• The power from the USB 3.0 header on the motherboard has a power rating of 4.5W (0.9A x 5V).
• Many USB-C devices can withdraw power up to 100W (20A x 5V), which may result in a power shutdown to protect the motherboard and its components.
• Not compatible with iPad Pro and other tablets for charging through this port.

• Converts 20-pin IDC USB 3.0 female port into 20-pin USB 3.1 E Type (A-Key) port for USB 3.1 Type-C or Type-A connector port capability.
• Does not convert from 5Gbps to 10Gbps.
• Even state-of-the-art motherboards with Intel 2066 or AMD AM4 sockets do not always come equipped with a USB 3.1 header or USB-C ports in their IO.

Easy to Install

1. Match up triangular arrows on the 20-pin 3.1 A-key female socket of the adapter card and the male interface of the cable extension mount and insert.
2. Line up the socket key and insert the USB 3.0 IDC female side of the adapter into the male 20-pin USB 3.0 IDC motherboard header (be careful not to bend the header pins).
